Hello Neighbor:
I am seeking re-election to Columbus Board of Education because all children in Columbus City Schools deserve to receive an education that prepares them for tomorrow. I have proudly served as your Board President since 2020 and am committed to improving student outcomes for all children. I truly believe in an inclusive, strategic, and holistic approach to governance of our district. I proudly call North Linden home.
My connection to CCS has been lifelong. As a CCS graduate, current CCS mom, and the daughter of a long-time CCS teacher, my commitment to improving student outcomes is personal. Since high school, I have actively been involved in helping make Columbus neighborhoods stronger by serving as past-president of the Northwest Civic Association and past-chair of the North Linden Area Commission. As an attorney and diversity, equity, & inclusion professional, I have demonstrated skill of advocacy in the protection of public education, infusing equity focused governance and accountability, and protecting the rights of our most vulnerable students.
The structure and delivery of school has changed little since the early 1900's. The current model is outdated and does not inspire our students to learn. CCS needs a radical transformation of how education looks, feels, inspires, and is funded. Our children deserve the same educational experience and opportunity as children in the suburbs. I am committed to this transformation by bringing our community's vision of a Portrait of a Graduate to every child in CCS.
We have made progress, and our students are achieving...but more must be done to prepare our children and Columbus for its future. I am committed to doing the "more" as I continue my service on the Board of Education.
